What is an IPA?

IPA stands for Independent Physician Association. An IPA is a group of independent physicians that have joined together to work with HMOs and other health care companies. Physicians belonging to an IPA have their own offices, and practice in the local community.

Who is the Santa Barbara Select IPA Medical Group?

Santa Barbara Select Physicians Medical Group was formed in 1996 and has since grown to 90 plus physicians and is affiliated with all Santa Barbara regional Hospitals. Through this network of providers, we provide health care to more than 10,000 individuals in the Santa Barbara Area.

What is the enrollment process?

Your HMO provides us your eligibility and benefit information. While this enrollment process can take up to 45 days, please be assured that your benefits are effective from your date of eligibility.

How do I change my enrollment information?

Your health Plan is responsible for your demographic and benefit information. You must contact your employer or your health plan directly. Your health Plan will then notify Santa Barbara Select physicians of any changes.
